ClickBank Accounting Policy

By Phil Rogers of CB Intuition

An astounding 92% of registered ClickBank members do not use their accounts. One of the main reasons is that beginning affiliate marketers have difficulty meeting the criteria of ClickBank's Accounting Policies. This means that although they have earned commissions on sales, they do not get paid by ClickBank. Until all the criteria have been met, no payments are made.

Frustrated and disillusioned by this, many would-be affiliates simply give up, abandoning their account with their commissions tied up inside.

After learning a little more about marketing, some people come back to give it another try several months later.
To their horror, they discover that some, or all, of the commissions they have earned have disappeared.

These accounts were considered "dormant" by ClickBank, so their Dormant Account Policy kicks in. This policy states that any account that remains inactive (ie no income) for an extended period of time (more than 90 days) will be subject to administration charges. These charges start off at $1 per payment period, but if the account remains inactive for a further 90 days, the charge rises to $5 per payment period. After a year, the charges are even higher.

A payment period is 2 weeks, so it doesn't take long for your hard-earned cash to be consumed by those charges.

Pretty rapacious aren't they? Thank you for information. I keep hearing about ClickBank and gather they do quite well. I wonder if they became successful because of their practices, or despite them.

I think they do well despite their practices, because it is so easy to use. There are a lot of people making a lot of money via ClickBank, so I guess those who are losing out need to learn how to become better marketers.

On the other hand, ClickBank make money on every sale, so they don't really need to grab peoples' fairly-earned commission.

The Dormant Account policy is a bit unfair. If you stop marketing their products for a while, you start to lose out, even if you've previously earned ClickBank thousands of dollars.
